Forest Weather Over Time
The weather at EF 2024 was miserable. We dealt with pouring rain, thunderstorms, high temperatures, and extreme humidity. I was curious what the weather trends were for the 2025 dates and what our odds are of experiencing something like 2024 again. So I grabbed several years of historical data for Rothbury, MI between June 18 (Wednesday arrival in 2025) and June 22 (last day of the 2025 festival) to produce some summaries.
Temperature
The table below shows the high temperature for June 18-22 in each of the last 8 years. The green box highlights comfortable temperatures between 55° and 75°.
Dew Point
The chart below shows the maximum dew point between noon and 7:00 pm each day. The green box highlights the most comfortable range, between 50° and 60° where the air is not too dry, but it does not feel muggy.
Based on this data, it seems we can count on at least one, and likely a few, uncomfortably humid days in 2025. Hopefully we don't see anything like 2024 where 0 of the days were comfortable.
